Evidence-Based Psychology Diagnostic Assessments
Gaining a formal diagnosis is a critical step towards accessing the right support and funding. Connect2Care offers comprehensive, private diagnostic pathways for Autism (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for both adults and children and Intellectual Disability (ID). These assessments are available via self-referral, meaning you can begin the process immediately without a GP referral.
Our clinical process is grounded in the highest standards of professional rigour, utilising gold-standard assessment tools to ensure accuracy. We employ the ADOS for Autism evaluations, Conners rating scales for paediatric ADHD and the CAARS2 for adult ADHD assessments. For intellectual disability, our clinicians use validated ABAS or Vineland measures to assess adaptive functioning and cognitive profiles.
We prioritise flexibility and transparency through our two-stage assessment model for Autism and ADHD. This allows clients to receive an initial letter of indication before deciding to proceed with a full diagnostic report. Assessments can be completed at our offices or via telehealth to suit your family’s needs.

What’s Our Process?
We understand that a full diagnostic report is a significant investment. To ensure transparency, our Autism and ADHD packages are delivered in two distinct stages.
Step 1: Clinical Indication
Clinical Indication: You receive a comprehensive intake and assessment session. Following this, you are provided with a Letter of Indication. This tells you if the clinical evidence suggests a diagnosis, without the immediate cost of a full report.

Formal Diagnostic Report
If the indication is positive and you wish to proceed, we complete the formal 3-to-4-hour diagnostic report. This document is required for official confirmation and includes professional recommendations

Package Structures and Clinical Process Autism
and ADHD Assessment Structure
To provide flexibility and clinical transparency, our Autism and ADHD diagnostic packages are conducted in two distinct stages. This model ensures you are fully informed of the clinical indications before choosing to proceed with a formal, comprehensive report.
Part 1: Initial Assessment & Indication
The process begins with a 1.5-hour intake appointment to gather initial medical and developmental history.
Clinical assessments involve gold-standard tools tailored to the individual, such as the ADOS for Autism, or targeted observations and Conners/CAARS2 rating scales for ADHD.
Once assessment scores are analysed, you will receive a 1-page Letter of Indication.
This letter provides a clinical signpost regarding the likelihood of a diagnosis but is not a formal diagnostic document and cannot be used for official advice.
Part 2: Formal Diagnostic Report
If you choose to move forward, our clinicians write a comprehensive report detailing all findings and diagnostic outcomes.
The report includes professional recommendations and strategies tailored to your specific needs.
To ensure the highest level of expertise and authoritativeness, reports are reviewed and signed by a Clinical Psychologist where necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
Diagnostic Packages:
Intellectual Disability (ID) Assessment
- Who it is for: Individuals requiring an assessment of cognitive ability and adaptive functioning (the skills needed for daily living)
- Clinical Approach: Our clinicians use validated tools such as the ABAS or Vineland to measure functional independence and adaptive behaviours.
- Key Benefit: Critical for accessing NDIS support, educational modifications and specialised disability services.
Intellectual Disability Assessment
The Intellectual Disability (ID) package is structured as a single-stage process with one upfront payment.
The assessment includes a 1-hour initial intake for history gathering followed by the completion of adaptive behaviour measures.
2-hour cognitive assessment (e.g. WISC, WPPSI and WAIS etc.)
Clinicians utilise recognised tools such as the ABAS or Vineland to assess functional independence and daily living skills.
The final stage involves the analysis of scores and the provision of a comprehensive diagnostic report detailing all clinical findings.
